My name is Christine Cook, I'm 37, married to Chris and have a 16 year old son called Thomas. I have been a Registered Childminder since June 2009 and originally worked alongside another Childminder in Northamptonshire, before returning to my home town and starting up my own provision in 2011.
I am very proud of my Outstanding grading in my Ofsted Inspection in Jan 2016, I was also graded Outstanding in my first inspection in Jan 2012.
I’m an Accredited Childminder offering free early education funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds and Approved for the North Somerset 0-2 year old funded childcare scheme.
I’m a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) and I have public and employers liability insurance through them. My husband Chris, son Thomas and I have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB/DBS) and are considered suitable to care for children. I have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and are trained in Paediatric First Aid. I have also completed training for food hygiene, Safeguarding and Managing Feelings and Behaviour. I have also completed stages 1-4 of Makaton signs and are teaching the children as part of daily routines and songs.
When my son was born I gave up my job as a Legal Secretary to look after him full-time. I enjoy caring for children and find it very rewarding, so working in childcare is the perfect choice for me. As well as childminding I also have experience working in a nursery and as a nanny for families with 2 or 3 children aged 3-10 years.
The energy and enthusiasm children show for life is infectious, it's wonderful to watch and help them grow, from first steps to confident young people. I love my job!
